let’s skip the

small talk

I’m LJ, and I see people differently.

I’m a licensed social worker, certified EFT practitioner, deep feeler, and total straight shooter…with a very healthy dose of sarcasm.

I help high-performing athletes and driven professionals break out of the mental loops that lead to overthinking, inconsistency, and burnout, so they can perform, lead, show up from a place of confidence and clarity.

My expertise is in the one part of performance that often gets ignored but impacts everything: the subconscious. That’s where your pressure responses, belief systems, and stuck patterns live. And that’s exactly what we work with.

I didn’t create Mind by LJ because I’ve played at the highest level or climbed the corporate ladder. I created it because I understand how the brain and nervous system work under pressure (in locker rooms and boardrooms). My background in social work, HR, and workforce development means I’ve sat with people navigating high-stakes moments in every arena. And my method of using EFT reprograms those patterns at both a mental and physical level. The result? You don’t just have new beliefs. You can actually trust those beliefs in the moments that matter the most.

I’m not here to coach your mechanics, fix your form or optimize your morning routine. I’m here to help you shift what’s happening beneath the surface so your full potential can actually show up when it counts.

I know what it’s like to look good on paper but feel stuck inside your own head. I’ve had to rebuild my confidence, rework the stories I believed, and stop letting old habits run my life.

Now, I help athletes and high performers destined for more do the same: with science-backed tools, real conversations, and zero fluff. At this level, more grit isn’t the answer.

Deeper work is.

And in case you’re wondering…I was skeptical about EFT too, until I saw the research and experienced it myself. Now I use it every day.

When I’m not coaching, you can find me planning spontaneous travel, making core memories with my nieces and nephews, or deep in a podcast/book as the personal development junkie I am. Layla, my rescue pup and emotional support potato, runs the household and makes up most of my camera roll.

If you’re here because you’re stuck in your own head, over your own excuses, or ready to take your performance to the level your potential deserves: Welcome. You’re in the right place.

Let’s get to work.

most people have never heard of EFT. That’s okay. Neither had I…until I couldn’t ignore the research.

Here’s what’s actually going on beneath the surface:

Your subconscious mind runs approximately 95% of everything you do. Every automatic reaction, every pressure response, every moment you freeze when you should fly, that's your subconscious running a program it learned somewhere along the way. Not because you're weak. Not because you lack mental toughness. Because that's literally how the human brain works.

The problem is that most performance tools (therapy, talk coaching, visualization, and positive thinking) work with the conscious mind. The 5%. And the 5% cannot override the 95%. That's not a motivation problem. That's neuroscience.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) works differently.

It combines two things science already knows work: the cognitive processing of talking through what's happening, and the physical act of stimulating specific acupressure points on the body while you do it. That combination sends a direct signal to the amygdala (the part of your brain responsible for threat detection and stress response) telling it the threat isn't real. The nervous system downregulates. The pattern loses its charge. And what used to trigger you simply... doesn't anymore.

This isn't energy healing. It isn't woo. It's a clinically researched method used by the American Psychological Association, studied in peer-reviewed journals, and used with everyone from veterans with PTSD to Olympic athletes to executives navigating high-stakes decisions.

The reason it works where other things haven't is because it doesn't just change what you think. It changes what your body believes.

And when your body stops responding to old patterns as if they're threats, your mind finally has room to perform the way you've always known you could.

You know where you are. now let’s figure out what’s actually in the way
